Carrollton, GA (March 31, 2023) – On Thursday, March 30, 2023, investigators with the Criminal Investigative Division responded to Wellstar Douglas in reference to a patient who received injuries during an incident that occurred in Carrollton. Upon arrival, the detective immediately noticed the victim had substantial swelling and bruising to the face and neck area. The victim stated that over the course of six hours, she was beaten and strangled. When she escaped the apartment on foot, she was forced back into the apartment. Based on the victim’s statements and injuries, a search warrant was executed at an apartment at 915 Lovvorn Road. The investigation resulted in the following arrest and charges:
Nathaniel Allen Bernhardt, age 27, of Carrollton, Georgia – Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery, False Imprisonment, Kidnapping, possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime
During the execution of the search warrant, the ACE Unit seized over five pounds of marijuana and a firearm.
