Reckless Driving Call Leads to Several Arrests

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Carrollton, GA (July 24, 2023) – On July 23, 2023, at 8:11pm, officers were dispatched to 1129 S. Park Street, the Target parking lot, in reference to a complaint of vehicles driving recklessly and management requesting the vehicles leave.  Officers were told there were approximately 70 vehicles revving engines and doing “burnouts.”

When officers arrived, they began telling the large crowd to disperse and leave the area.  Members of the crowd became irate, argumentative, and stated to officers that they did not have to leave.  One male, Raymond Ray, continued to argue and then began to yell profanities.  He, again, did not leave after officers told him to do so.  At that time, officers attempted to arrest Ray.   When doing so, Ray resisted arrest and other crowd members pushed back on officers in an attempt to hinder them from getting to Ray to assist with the arrest.

These events led to the following arrests and/or citations:

Raymond Ray, Jr, 47, Villa Rica – Disorderly Conduct

Kacey Ray, 28, Temple – Obstruction (felony), Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer

Raymond Ray, Sr, 66, Villa Rica– Reckless Driving

Robert Ray. 69, Franklin – Disorderly Conduct

This is an active and ongoing investigation and more arrests could be pending.
